What is an Ethical - No Kill Dairy?
Our heritage A2 cows are treated with the utmost care and compassion. They have access to spacious pastures where they can graze freely and engage in natural behaviors. We prioritize their health and well-being over copious amount of milk production for short duration. Our cows are not subjected to artificial hormones or unnecessary interventions, ensuring that their milk is pure and wholesome.
The Raw Milk available at the Farm Store is unpastuerized and non-homogenized. The cows are milked in a clean regulated milking barn imbued with music and mantras.
The calves that the cow delivers suckle on the mother for close to 6 months. We love to see the strong bond between the cow and her calves - as we know Happy cows mean Healthy Milk. The stress free happy cow will not release cortisone in the milk, and she will be relatively free of diseases caused due to stress and overwork. We have found A2 unhomgeneized unastureized raw milk to be much easier to digest for lactic intolerant stomachs.
The male calves are not considered useless and killed for veal soon after birth. They are trained as Oxen for varying purposes. You may soon be able to travel in an Ox wagon on our farms.
Our cows are taken wholesome care of to be able to live for 20-25 years of their natural lifespan compared to 5-7 years in a conventional dairy. Once they stop producing milk, they will be sent "out to pasture" in their "retirement homes" - we save 10% of all dairy sales in a common retirement fund for the cows that will be used as capital to purchase old dairies, as these "retirement homes," that have been going out of business in Northeast at an alarming rate.

Grassfed Local Raw Milk Dairy vs Gopal Ethical Raw Milk Dairy
In addition to our ethical dairy practices, we are committed to sustainable farming methods. We prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship. Our farm utilizes regenerative agriculture techniques, such as rotational grazing and composting, to minimize our impact on the land and promote a healthy ecosystem. Goats and chickens graze after the cows have grazed the pastures in rotation, to clean the weeds and to spread the manure respectively.
By supporting Gopal Farm, you are not only choosing a dairy product that is ethically produced, but you are also contributing to a more compassionate and sustainable food system. You can enjoy our milk with the knowledge that it comes from cows who are treated with love, respect and kindness. Hence we call our milk the "Kind Milk". Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of animals and promote a more compassionate and sustainable future.
